Shops for uk exhaust mod
#22
It's vital to hear any exhaust mod on the same car you have and the so-called UK exhaust has almost infinite variations in bypass pipe diameters and elbow placement which means you need to hear several. If you don't like it in a month or so it takes more welding to fix it or change it. The cost advantage can't be denied though.
Internet sound clips are useless as the recording mic clips sound levels and your PC speakers can't reproduce it anyway.
With the relative permanence of this mod I decided to spend the extra money on an aftermarket exhaust. Two, actually, the first (Q300) was too loud but that was fixed in 20 minutes once the car was off the ground with the Tanabe Medalion Touring which also eliminated the Civic/Accord exhaust tips.

I have the Tanabe with stock cat. I can say at idle and anything less than WOT under 4,000 rpm it is fairly quiet. Not stock quiet but you won't be pulled over. Maybe a bit louder than a stock Infiniti g35 exhaust. Above 5k or at WOT, you know it's not stock and has a great sound. Also, none or negligible drone at highway speeds which was key for me. No rasp. It's perfect for what I wanted.
I've never heard a UK mod so can't compare. But the Tanabe is 4-5 times the price as well so there's that. But it's lighter too so there's also that.

I got mine from garage13.ca just because they had it listed in the site.
I think anyone who's a Tanabe dealer can get one for you though. I almost bought it out of the US but with shipping and exchange it worked out to more or less the same price. FX has gotten better recently though.
If you're in the GTA PM me if you want to hear it.

I'd think the Medalion Touring would be available to order from any retailer that carries the brand. The brand is popular for the Subaru WRX and BRZ/FRS.5252 Motorsports
The Tanabe USA site lists many Canadian dealers Not sure how current the list is.
US$900 from Evasive. Roughly CDN$1,130 at today's exchange rate. You may be able to do better buying from a Canuck source.
