blizzak lm22's are awesome for winter, will never have any problems
but honestly -- if i were in your shoes and didn't have the option of a winter beater -- i'd sell it for an sti/evo. i personally don't find this car fun to drive in the winter (not a fan of driving 'carefully/liberally' to stay safe). sti/evo will be year round fun
best of luck

We used to own a FWD beater van for my dad to get around without using the work truck and we were doing 80 in an 80 and some idiot in a Dodge decides to PASS us in a ****** snow storm at night, I look back after not seeing his lights anymore and he was in the 4 foot snow bank on the other side of the road. I laughed so hard because we were 300 feet from our side road to get to our house.
If I get an S I think I may drive it through the winter, I work down the road so it won't be that bad. I'm personaly worried about the soft top outside in the snow for 10 hours (my work shift every day) Would putting an outdoor car cover every time it's outside help save the top?

I gave up with sports cars in winters, after I drove my old Camaro through a winter. Im sure its not as bad though with the s2000's, cause the newer ones have traction control too.
