An interesting point brought up by the techs at Mississauga Honda.

With the aluminum/magnesium alloy of the drain pan and gear box, are the Spoon plugs compatible?? ie; will they or won't they contribute to electrolysis between the dissimilar metals.

They would appear to be the same as OEM plugs to me. But any of us that are old enough to remember the GM cars that had bumpers falling off, remember it was the aluminum bumpers and steel bolts, with a little salt thrown in to the mix, that caused that.

It give one pause to think, uhm.

I assume that these magnetic plugs serve the same purpose as the one in the diff - to collect metal shavings right? I changed my diff fluid this weekend for the first time (car has 7500km) and damn was there a lot of metal shavings! If there's anywhere near this amount floating around in the engine or tranny, I'm in for sure!
