Just wondering, can OPP or Metro Police detect VG2 detectors like Escort Passport 8500 and such. The last post I read on the subject was that they were convening to decide whether to buy new equipment which would render the current generation of VG2 detectable. Are there any new detectors that combat the new police equipment.

Nothing yet confirmed from any manufacturers that I've spoken with.

They know about it, and the only one who even remotely seemed concerned was BEL. Figures they're in Missisauga....

All the others said they would provide a detector when and if the detectors are finalized and in rotatation in the US. Which makes sense given the market really is the US.

The OPP are still in pilot mode, and given they are successful in finding people with VG2 proof gear is likely a high selling point.

We might be detectorless for quite a while.
