Ok I know it's super early, but would anyone be interested in doing a group drive down to the 'Tail of the dragon' next spring.

I want to go, and it would be cool to have a group from Ontario all drive down together.

You may have to take a few days off work, so thats why I am asking now.

This motel is a sh*t hole. Who knows how many fat bikers have had arse sex on the bunk beds. BUT it is right on the route. Most other motels/hotels are 1-2 hours away from deals gap/tail of the dragon. The rates are pretty cheap and they also have camping available for 12 bucks...

It would also be fun to hit up Nashville when we are down that way. I hear it has a crazy night life...even if it is counrty

It's a long drive, you want good accomidations to rest up.

 

I bought my car in nashville. If I remember correctly, it was about 3 hours to get to deals gap from there.
From nashville to home was 16hours maybe? check out google earth

 

We did it in 13hrs with stops for gas/food last May24 weekend. Stayed in Pigeon Forge (about 35mins from the Foothills Pkwy/US129 Junction). Cabin in the mountains. 4 nights was $560 for a 2 bedroom log home complete. All we needed was food which we bought at the Walmart on the way to the lodging. Had BBQ, spa on the deck, full kitchen. Have plenty of pics. Pigeon Forge is close to Gatlinburg which is cool, also, it is home to Dollyworld if your so inclined. Mostly, it was close to the Blueridge Pkwy and Smokey Mountain national park with awesome roads.

We did the Dragon, Cherohola Skyway, Blue Ridge Pkwy, US28, and all around the area. Fantastic time.
