I am assuming that a US resident can't take over the lease, what would your buddy want if he were to buy out the lease and then sell the car?

There wouldn't be any warrantee on the car. Plus right now the Canadian Dollar is strengthening against the US Dollar exchange is about 100 CAD to 75 USD.

I agree - too much dough.

Dump the $10k upfront, keep the wheels and the suspension to sell at another time, and there is a chance that someone may hit this.

As it stands, there is zero benefit to taking this lease over.
