Default Test pipe with factory heat shield

I plan on buying a 70mm test pipe, but don't want to worry about a cop ever hassling me and getting a $500 ticket for a $80 mod. Has anyone ever put the factory heat shield from the OE cat on there test pipe? The only one I'm aware of that comes with mounting tabs is the Js test pipe but for 260+ I can buy a HFC. I can't seem to find too much info on this, only heat shield rattles and such just curious to know if anyone else has done this to there test pipe. THANKS!

I can't take any chances, I have to keep a clean drivers abstract for my job.

Im fully aware it can be done, Im curious if anyone has personally done this themself as I too will be doing this shortly. If anyone has done this, did it rattle without heat wrap, without adding tabs etc

I think Nick had it done on his car but was rattling / one of the bolts came loose or something on the wine tour last year

all it'd take would be for a cop with a stick to tap the heat shield before your cover's blown. not sure how effective this really would be versus providing a false sense of security.

On mine I bottomed out on something and broke the two front tab welds.

More for sense of security. I had a gutted high flow cat, front mount intercooler, big hks exhaust, fully locked diff etc on my old 240sx and got pulled over by MTO. It's all about how you speak to cops even the assholes. I pointed out to the MTO officer my charcoal canister, pointed to the cat and asked him what else he was looking for. The car reaked of fuel, had gauges inside, and was a pretty big heat score but he didnt think twice to let me go.

Long story short my s2000 is a not a heat score riced out civic, the car is stock (minus te exhaust at some point) if he indeed sees its a disguised test pipe somehow, I will simply pleed stupidity.

Realized it wasn't mentioned yet but the T1R test pipe has tabs as well I believe. $150 ish I think new and 80-100 used I'd guess
