Tire Dealer/Installer Recommendations
Hey guys, so during the recent cruise I noticed some vibration in the car when getting up into the higher speeds. I knew it could either be a wheel balance issue or possibly a tire issue. I knew I was getting some abnormal wear on my front tires so I picked up a spare set a while back and have been keeping an eye on them.
The problem I realised is that I hadn't been checking my rear tires and they managed to catch up and pass my front tires on wear...to the point they need to be changed asap! :/
I used to get my tires from Go For Tires but they are no longer around. Could you guys please suggest a couple places I can contact to at least purchase new tires. I would be looking for Dunlop Star Specs preferrably, but I dont want any low performing tire that is sold here in Canada. I would also prefer not to have to deal with any kind of border shipping as the duty and exchange is rediculous.

You guys are sure he can get those type of tires? They are not listed on their site. Hankook RS-3 would be another possible option I would consider.
I'm gunna shoot him an email anyways.

^ I was looking at those tires, they look like they have really good performance ratings and are a decent price. My concern is the treadlife...they seem to be rated much poorer than other similar tires. How do you guys feel they are holding up??

If you don't do any track or auto x then they're are a waste of money. Same could be said about the rs3s but they're pretty cheap and last a long time. You're gonna get raped for star specs because they're a US company and haven't to be shipped from there.

Its going to be a bit of weighing the pros and cons for sure. I do bring my car to the track the odd time (not as much as I would like) but I have always had top performing tires and don't want to sacrifice that for sure, even for DD. The cost is going to be based on initial cost vs treadlife. Ill pay more upfront if they will last longer, but dont want to pay less if I have to be buying new tires that much sooner.

I've only had them on for maybe 1,000 km's just street driving so can't really say. I don't expect them to last long but I didn't buy them for high mileage. I priced the rs-3 at the same time and price wasn't much different. Plus slipstone had $70 rebate at the time. So they were cheaper than the Chinese crap the guy I bought the car from put on the car. 255 rears were back ordered at the time though so not sure if those are available now.
