Tire shops in GTA

Any recommendations? Can I get a better deal then the list? Tks!

Best one i've found is tires23
AP1 wheels, +1 sizing, prices tax inc.
$580 for Kuhmo 712s
$920 or so for Bridgestone RE-70s

revmatch 03-22-2007 01:33 PM

you will prob get the best deal there...the only places I have checked with can just barely match his pricing, and tire23 will usually install for you too.

otherwise you can try steelcase tire in markham or wheels direct in scarborough...sorry i dont know any west end places.

on a side note - i suggest not buying kumho 712's....yes i know they're cheap and so called "best bang for the buck" tire, but they are shit....ive used them for over a year on a higher HP car of mine and they were sad.

i would suggest toyo t1-s or falken rt-615 or advan neova's if u can afford them (all around the same prices) and destroy the 712. of course the usual high end BFgoodrich or michelin or bridgestone is a solid choice if u have even more money to spend. even the yoko es100 is a solid tire tho its a "medium sport perf" tire, as would be the dunlop sp9000 (i think) or something from pirelli (not a big fan of their car tires unless its a P-Zero or a bike tire :LOL: ... )

Thanks. I read through the the stickied threads in the wheel section, is this understanding correct?

If you do not use the oem spec S-02s you should find a replacement that either has the same contact patch size (8"ish) or is 245/45/16? The 225/50/16 Neovas have a contact patch that is about the same, does that mean they are suitable to replace the oem s-02s?

Hankook RS-2 is solid as well.

Rear = 245/46/16
Front = 205/55/16

You can sub the 205/55/16 for 215/50/16 (if you can find sizing).

Not advised to use 225/50/16 on the rear, you will get extra oversteer.

Mocky 03-23-2007 10:40 AM

only thoughts on the rt-615s is the tire noise... compared to the s02s, they are loud.. (especially if you are on the highway a lot).. that would be my only real complaint about them.

i am running on Toyo T1-R, so far I have no complaints. But I can't compare them to the S0-2 because I have never tried the S0-2

I'm willing to sacrifice a little dry for wet and also slightly better wear (if that's what these tires offer)

S02s don't last very long......but super sticky in the dry :LOL:

really??? new rims still in bags... hoping for it to dry out a bit more.

QIKSILVR 03-26-2007 08:38 AM

I have the T1-R's on the rear, they're nothing special. My rear toe was off again so the tires will soon be done after about 20K km's.. Next time I'll probably spend the extra and get the Goodyears F1.
