TMP Money Grabbing

Whats your guys opinions on the price increase this year? Evening Open lapping is now $70 pre-reg and $90 week before-day of.

They also don't offer any discount gift cirtificates or coupons.

Am I unaware to some changes or track improvments that they made? Or are they just out to make a larger profit?

Seeing as they aren't doing well financially (the creditors put TMP up for sale last year), I wouldn't consider a $10 increase a money grab

It's one way to work themselves out of the red, increase revenue and reduce costs, hope for the best.

I just think its too much for only 3 hours on a weekday night. What major expenses could they possibly have? Its a bunch of ashphalt on a big piece of land out in the middle of no where? They dont even upkeep the parking lot so they definitly arent losing money there.

Its still pretty darn cheap. Anything under $120 for a night of open lapping is very economical in my books. Go for a day of lapping at MIR and then come back back and tell us how expensive tmp is becoming

You could at least pick comparable tracks! lol

Haha even if you go with a lapping club for a shannonville track day, you're still looking over $100 on avg. But keep in mind, some of those events have well over 30 cars vs. 8-10 cars on a wed night at tmp. Its a $10 increase, suck it up boy hahah

increased labor cost, maintenance cost, property taxes, infrastructure... all these can be attributed to raising prices

CR EH 05-04-2012 12:13 PM

Hmmm, all valid points I suppose

Tell me something where the price isn't increasing. I guess it's life. I'm sure their land taxes, maintenance, etc isn't remaining stagnant either.
