underbody rust repair

underbody rust repair
Hi,
Noticed some rust on my 03 on the underbody in two specific spots, the holes next to the front jack points on both the driver and passenger side...
Should I:
- leave it be
- fix it myself (what should I do/use, naval jelly, rust converter?)
- get it fixed up professionally
Can someone recommend a bodyshop that will do underbody rust repair? (Chipmaster in markham DOES NOT do this)

That's it eh? i've read some suggestions on using por-15 but seems too complicated and the solution really requires the rust to be gone first before coating. So you're saying I should just try to slow it down rather than try to eliminate it. Maybe the latter is not possible...
I think I met you on thursday...

Rust check also has a rust primer, I'd spray it first and then hit it with the coat and protect, the primer is a grey colour so it will blend in nicely. Give it a light sanding first, won't take much, very easy fix.

It's just some surface rust, so there is no need to go over board on the repair.
If you plan to sell the car one day, the buyer may suspect that the car was in a minor accident if the rust repair was done by a body shop (sanding, overstray, etc...), whereas with oil type undersprays it just...simple undercoating.
If you want to spend some more time, and not use any rust protection treatments (oily stuff), then something like this may be ok.

or like the other poster mentioned you can use one of those products that can be painted on later.

As my car sits on jackstands due to an expired engine, I was under my car today putting a locknut on some seat bolts (extra theft protection). I noticed that I have rubber plugs in the holes that you show in your pictures, my car also has dealer installed rustproofing. Good news is that my fuel lines and brake lines look like new, not a speck of rust on them which is good.
