Default We got snow in Sudbury.

Everyones always worried about salt and sand, plows etc. Well what about scrapping the snow and ice off your car. Does that damage the windows? My car had over 3 inches of think icy snow on top, a massive layer, the entire thing was covered. Would that hurt an S? How would a soft top hold up to that, because I never really thought of it this much, but now I know I wouldn't be able to get an S and drive it through the winter. Looks like I'm going to have to settle for an S4 or WRX or something. I won't be able to afford a 18,000 dollar S2000, keep my Civic for a DD and then pay for storage for 6 months and insurance for 2 cars.

as long as you don't fold the roof when it's freezing like some idiots, you'll be OK

Personally, I wouldn't winter drive the S if I lived in the snowbelt.

That's a last minute decision and maybe a bit to late.

That's the first thing that went through my mind when I got my s2000. I had a beater waiting for winter use

Yea but I don't think I'd afford to keep my winter beater.

What about buying a cheap S? Get one for 12,000 or something so I don't feel bad, haha.

I don't live in the snowbelt, Snowbelt is between me and toronto.

There's a guy in sudbury that drove his s2000 all winter for the past couple years. Snow tires and at stock ride height and you will be fine.

Would I do it though?

Hell NO

I would love to see the looks I get though.

I asked my GF this question... If you were going to go on a date with a girl and you owned an S2000 or any convertible. Would you show up to her house with the top up or down? I would go down, but if it's your first date and you're going out, wouldn't she care if her hair gets messy?

Btw, this is what we got today. Roads are really bad. This was my car AFTER I cleaned it and drove it around for 10 minutes. I was snow covered this morning with a think icy snow., like when I scrapped it off, it was like pizza slices.

If you lived in Sudbury you probably wouldn't have the S. You would be driving a jacked up truck or jeep of some sort.
