Default What a start to a weekend

Well, guys I ****ed up hardcore. Pulling at the top of third I misshifted into second and that ****ed me up nicely. My mechanic won't be able to take a look at it till Monday and I might be due for a new engine. To make things worse when I had the tow truck guy come he cracked my front lip too... All I can say is wow considering this all happened within an hour.

So my question is anyone have a spare engine laying around? More interested in an AP1. Also if I over revved it bad, I could've done some serious internal problems but would it effect the transmission at all?

I've miss shifted hardcore on the track... and it def wasn't good for the tranny. My tires squealed cause the engine had to slow down so much so it wouldn't rev super high...

But everything seems to be okay now.?
Sorry to hear buddy. What happened exactly? Did eveythin just smoke up?

Well there wasn't any smoke coming out like crazy, the only smoke I saw was when I pulled the dip stick and saw some smoke there. Definitely not a good sign either, I'm just worried I might have to replace the trans as well. Hopefully not.

What made me even angrier at myself was I didn't think to gas out clutch in right away, I sat there like an idiot.

So besides the fact that the newer 2.2 engines are built stronger/better is there any other reasons why I should look for an ap2 long block?

Trans will be fine. The problem is the transmission overevs the engine past the rpm that the valvetrain can handle breaking retainers and dropping valves. As for the transmission, I wouldnt worry about it...

Omalley's right.

It's your valves that can't take the 10K+ rpms, your tranny can handle it.

crank and retrainers and a few odds and ends that make the difference between 2.2 and 2.0 Otherwise same quality/reliablility it's just that 9k is alot more fun then 8k
