Wheel option dilemma - staggered vs Square
Hey guys,
Entertaining the possibility of running some 16' Konig Britelites that I had previously had from another car - my oems are getting a bit worn. Just wondering if its a possibility, and if anyone with more knowledge on tire/wheel sizing can shed some light on whether or not this is okay or a bad idea. thank you! I am currently setup with OEM 16's with 225/50/16 Bridgestone Potenzas in the front, and Nitto Drag 245/50/16s in the rear. The OEM wheel Specs are: 16 x 6.5 offset 55 in the front and 16 x 7.5 w/ offset 65 in rear I would be using the same tires but on the Konig Britelites. Which are 16x7 with a 40 offset all around. I also plan on running Buddy Club N+ coilovers soon for street use only and at a modest ride height setting. Would this work? |
My opinion is 7 is too narrow for a 245 tire

Stiffer springs in the front vs rear, putting a softer rear sway bar or a stiffer front sway bar and or both. I take it your running drag in the rear for traction due to FI? If that's the case start looking for 17's and get a much better tire selection and go with a 9" wide rear rim. 7" rear and front is less then ideal. If you're car is a DD and you don't drive it hard/track then you could get away with it (hell you could technically get away with a tercel tire as long as it can handle the weight). But the car deserves better :tipwink: |
Ola!
these are just the answers I was looking for! Yes Im FI. Traction is a big concern. Thank you for shedding light. Ill start looking into 17" options once I waste these tires first. |

I was probably only pushing 300hp with my SC on Yoko S-Drives and 1st gear sucked, 2nd gear was crappy in cold weather. 1st gear was scary in cold. RS3 helped in that area. |
