Winter Insurance?
 

What do you guys/gals do for winter insurance? I know most of you store your cars for the winter, but do you buy that insurance which covers theft, etc or do you completely take the S2k off insurance. The thing is, i think your insurance goes up if you cancel your policy for the winter with no insurance on any car.

Obviously, as you can see, i have never stored my car for the winter.:)

My insurance is so cheap that I'm not sure if I'm going to cancel it or not.

I don't think it can go up because you take the winter months off, how that would work I dunno..but if anyone can screw you its the insurance company bastards.

If I do drop the insurance I'll likely go with theft and acts of destruction.

A lot of people reduce their coverage to fire & theft only when they put their car in storage.

I'm a driving addict so I keep all my cars fully insured all year round - regardless of whether they are in storage or not.

If it ain't snowing, I'll be driving it!

On cars that I could not drive in winter I used to eliminate as much as I could from the insurance policy. I kept fire, theft and removed PL PD. This amounted to an insignificant savings so I didn't do it for too long. Besides, it's nice to be able to take the car for a blast whenever a chinook hit town. Also, if you have the car financed, the bank (or whoever) will insist you keep certain basic coverage on a stored car. After all, they consider it to be "their" car till you pay it off.

Yes, Fire and theft should be on the car. If you cancel your insurance you will get charged for early cancellation.

I keep only fire and theft on it during the winter months. The premium drops down to about $40 per month. If a nice day comes along I will drive it around the block to get the juices flowing.

Springtime I reinstate full coverage.

Yep, I do the same thing. I'd rather keep that money to myself, then paying those bastards!!
