Winter Tires Question
 

I have a friend with an ITR and he has winter tires. 205 is the size, 5-bolt too.

Can I use them on the S2? I'm trying to save money so i'm going to be borrowing his tires on my daily trek to school (5 minutes).

Unsafe?

One thing is the offset, they may be 5 bolt, but do they still fit?
the other thing is most have said that when messing with the tire sizes, and having both rims the same size the handling is pretty squirley. If he's got em around, maybe try them first before the snow fly's and see how it feels, otherwise you may be fighting the snow AND your car.

205 may be the size but equally important is the profile. If they are not the same as OEM then there may be other issues such as speedo correction, sidewall flex, possible rubbing at full turn, etc. Also, 205's on the rear will look really odd (like skinny little donuts).

i can't believe no one here is dissuading you from doing this - am i missing something?

i've driven the car (my car) for a few days with non-stock tire widths and non-stock wheel offsets. the car is dangerous - the back end is all over the place - even cross-winds will upset the back end of the car - compounded with snow/ice, it's a recipe for disaster.

everyone would like to save money, but what is your life worth?

surely it's worth more than a set of tires and wheels?!?!

or get a winter beater.

an alternative is to use proportionate tire sizes (on proportionately sized wheels) to keep the track of the car same as/close to stock.

YOU HAVE TO MAINTAIN THE TRACK OF THE CAR.
