FS: Custom S-Tai style led DRLs

Hey guys,

I've been getting a lot of compliments and interest in my led's, which I don't mind making. Theyre brighter than the j's racing leds and are pretty low key when off. Ill try n post some pics up this weekend.
If this goes I'll do them for $75 (black) a pair w/ wiring and a switch.

Each kit will come with:
-A pair of LED fogs and brackets
-Sufficient wires and connectors needed for a clean install (whether it be tapping the headlamps, or running a switch under the steering wheel)
-An on/off switch with an red "on" light
-All hardware needed for the install (may vary depending on preference)
-Detailed instructions

Shoot me a pm if interested with what bumper, and where you prefer tap your power source.

cheers

J

Heres a pic of indoor daytime
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...1bd993846f.png

Some more detailed pics soon to come, weekend lagg :S

As for how long it will take, I'm waiting 'til the end of the weekend to see roughly how many I need to make. If there are 10 people for instance (almost there), then they will probably be done by next weekend tops. Just post if you guys prefer the black or the white background

Black will be $75
White will be $60
I make them 6" long (seems to look the best on most bumpers and is about the length of the j's), but you can give me a custom length to your preference as well.

thanks guys.

J

chengstar 04-10-2010 10:08 PM

white!

kookiemonster 04-10-2010 11:43 PM

Looks nice.
I"m interested in the white one.

BTW How do you attach it to the lip?

fenixv8 04-11-2010 08:52 AM

i'll take a set just tell me who to pay

jvu3 04-11-2010 03:16 PM

PM your numbers and preference (length, colour).

Ok so for those who want the black background it will be about a week n a half

For those who would like the white ones I could probably finish them by the end of the week.

If interested, send me a pm or text 4168308315 and I'll make a list in order of who comes in contact with me first.

Thanks

J

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...age&img=707480

jvu3 04-14-2010 02:07 PM

correct, those are the white boards, as for problems in the wet they are waterproof.

new pics of recent install on weedamese's bb

weednamese 04-19-2010 10:01 PM

you said you would mark off my license plate you jerk off. lol jp i dont care

kookiemonster 04-19-2010 10:17 PM

I'm gonna setup my BB with a black set so that its less noticeable.

FYI
I was concerned that I would have to drill this set into my fender, however, this is JVU response:
Nope they weigh next to nothing so I went with 3M 2 way tape as the best option. I'll give you instructions when you pick them up. If you can ask me the same question in my thread incase someone else had the same question. Thank you.

S2Kdrew 04-28-2010 03:23 PM

I am in too.

chengstar 04-28-2010 04:43 PM

got a set thx johnny

jvu3 04-29-2010 04:13 PM

np. Ill keep everyone updated on the when the new ones (black) will be done. ETA probably thursday. Sorry for the lag guys.

hey cheng get that installed and show me some pics!

note: I am going to change the guage of wire that I will be using once again -_-. So the switch doesnt get hot. For those who have grabbed a set off me already, I will take care of the new wiring. thanks!

paul__chen 04-30-2010 10:47 AM

nice work

2 quick questions if u don't mind

1) are these LED lights mainly for aesthetic purposes or do they also light up the road in a sense for better clarity at night?!

2) how difficult is it to install (the wiring and crap) for a complete noob

thanks in advanced!

B18C5er 05-01-2010 08:20 AM

How do these mount?

mikeys2k 05-01-2010 12:20 PM

im in for white..

jvu3 05-02-2010 02:09 PM

Sorry for the delay.

They mount with 3M 2way tape (best option IMO)

In a sense they do make your car more noticeable at night time but from inside the car the Headlights show more.

Install for a noob isn't too bad, the hardest part is getting the wire through the firewall to the driver footwell. Just take some time to run the wires as clean as you can.

Thanks guys. N I'll let you know when the black ones are done

for those who want the white, contact me as I have them available.

jvu3 05-13-2010 04:50 PM

Hey guys sorry for the wait, I finally have black in stock! I can have a couple sets ready for next week, I just need to recap who's been waiting for the black background leds.

cheers.

FluKy15 07-07-2010 02:05 PM

Can you get like a blue light? What I would want to do is put it hidden, and point it down so its a underglow of that open space on the front of the s2.

Basically, I want to light up the front grill part blue. So if I am following someone they see a blue glow under the hood of my car.

weednamese 07-07-2010 02:19 PM

lets see more pics of the NSX

asking to get pulled over lol..

kookiemonster 07-24-2010 05:22 PM

Ok.
I'm finally ready to install my LED lights but need some help.

Been so busy that I haven't had any time to go out and enjoy the S.
Anyways, if anyone who has installed it already, can help me on how the wiring should be, I'd appreciate it.

Left LED with long blk and red wire exposed
Right LED with short blk and red wire exposed
Long blk and red wire, one end exposed, other end crimped with adapters
Short red wire, both ends crimped with adapters.
Toggle switch with 3 contacts.

How does this connect up?

Thanks in advance.

Like the LED's.
Too bad I still haven't installed it.
I'm so noobie'ish that I can't even understand the simple instructions you gave me.
If anyone who already has this installed, wouldn't mind me looking at your setup, I'd might finally be able to hook it up.

hmm.
:eek3: 4300k LED's.. are these the same as the original sets? If it is brighter, than I'm interested even though I have not even installed the original set.
What's the cost?
I procrastinate too much. :blah:

newbie7 09-03-2010 04:54 PM

Do these fit AP1s by any chance? If anyone has a pic of these installed on the AP1s I'd love to see them (I suspect they can go in the 2 "fog lights" holes)?

jvu3 09-06-2010 10:50 AM

They would go in the grill opening.

jvu3 10-22-2010 04:54 PM

^^ new batch coming soon

bb_00 10-24-2010 09:22 AM

jvu3,

I'm interested in a set of black. Do you do the install? Where r u located? PM the details. Thanks.

zeroptzero 10-24-2010 10:17 AM

I want to get a set of these and run them 24/7 as drl's. Right now I've got my headlights running full-time. I've got a relay to use under dash already. Any idea how to run the wiring from the front bumper to the under dash fuse panel area. I don't want to remove my bumper as my front under spoiler isn't attached overly strong and I'd rather not take it apart. Is there an easy way to fish the wires form the bumper into the engine bay. Do you have any pics of the installation. Thanks for any reply.

bb_00 10-28-2010 05:07 AM

Any update in the stock, Jvu3?

jvu3 11-26-2010 05:49 AM

Update: hey guys. I have 6 sets ready today which 4 are spoken for. They look real nice. I'll snap some installation photos when I install a set on my Nsx since the installation is relatively the same. Shoot me a pm if interested.

Cheers guys.

zeroptzero 11-28-2010 06:02 PM

pics, pics, pics, pics, can't wait to get mine, pics, pics, pics please, lol.
