Mileage: Car has approx. 120k kms on the body, motor has 8k kms since refresh , tons of parts are new or almost new.
I've driven the car about 4k kms per year in my 8 years of ownership. Garage kept queen for sure.
I'm putting my absolutely mint 2002 MY S2000 up for sale if some lucky buyer can convince me to give it up, I am not really interested in selling it, but like any good adoption process if I found a good owner who appreciates the car and is willing to take good care of my baby and give it a good home, I'd consider letting it go. The process is simple, bring a money order for $32,000 and you can test drive it and take it home. Only posting it here for a decent purchaser, no interest in selling on kijijii or auto trader, no tire kickers, no low ballers. Not parting out at this point. I can't think of any better ap1 in the region, when I say that it runs like brand new and looks almost brand new it is because thare are so many new parts on the car, this thing should last an easy 100,000 miles and be perfectly maintenance free without needing any significant repairs, not many cars out there that are in this condition IMO. I'm secretly hoping it takes five years to find the right buyer. You can also bring a suitcase full of cash if you like.
If you think the price is high , there is at least $10,000 in Mugen parts on this car, several thousands in other rare JDM aftermarket parts, several thousands in new OEM Honda parts (some no longer available from Honda), and other high quality aftermarket parts, plus millions of dollars in sweat equity given to this car over the years

I will say that my track record has been similar with other vehicles. I get a car that I enjoy, I modify it on a regular basis to the point of where I get to an end point, and then it seems like the project is done and I eventually sell it. It seems like the journey of the mod. process is more important than the end result, sounds very odd doesn't it ? I also sold my SRT4 at a time when values bounced upwards for a brief time unexpectedly, seeing that happen with the S2000 provides a bit more motivation to sell too. Given that I bought the car at a good price and I bought all of my parts at used prices I think I am making a bit of money on the sale after 8 years of ownership. Not bad for a depreciable asset I guess.
I love my S2000 and I always thought that I'd keep it forever and eventually give it to my son, but things change and that's about all I can say. On a side note I love driving my new Civic and I get a lot of enjoyment from it, though it is obviously a much different situation. When my son starts driving full time the Civic has much more safety features which I deliberately wanted for him, it was not realistic to have him ever drive the S2000 so no real reason to keep the S2000 for him. Individually none of these reasons are good enough to sell the S2000, but in total it makes some sense.
