As an owner of one of your engine-turned sparkplug covers, I will say you are doing wonderful work. Will the heat shield and the radiator cooling plate be available in engine-turned?

Unfortunately I have not made one out of the mirror stainless yet. However, it is the exact same material as the patterned stainless, it just has the mirror finish instead of the little circles. The sheet is kind of expensive so I hoping to get some orders first so I can buy the material.

suzuka-blue-s2k 01-07-2011 01:03 PM

Ahh okay. Well let me know when you guys get close to the 10 people for the group buy. I really want one, but might need cash until then, so I would rather pay for it when it gets closer to make sure I have enough.

1point3_to_2point2 01-08-2011 05:35 PM

pm price for both

zeroptzero 01-16-2011 07:01 AM

if your heat shield does away without having to use that major pain in the ass bolt on the inside lower frame rail I'm definitely in for one, I have to reinstall my heatshield and I detest having to use that major pain in the arse slide behind bolt. Looking at your design yours doesn't use that lower frame rail bolt near the firewall. I'll pm you on this.

If that is the case I'll take a patterned stainless steel one like you show in the pictures, you do offer those on this GB right ?. Thanks for any reply.

it'S2klean 01-16-2011 02:52 PM

^ No he does not offer the patterened one, only the polished and black one. ^

I am willing to buy one of the Polished ones you are offering in the group buy but put me on a list of dedicated buyers and i will pay once we have ten.

zeroptzero 01-16-2011 04:41 PM

Okay, I'm in on this as well, stainless version as per my pm's.

it'S2klean 01-16-2011 05:39 PM

By the way can we please get some pictures of the stainless version asap?
And would like to know the qeustion Jfusion asked in regards to mounting.

I got a pm reply on that, this heatshield does not use the lower frame rail bolt near the firewall, which is a big relief. Not having to use that bolt makes it far easier to remove and install. It uses alternate bolt locations that seem to be pretty easy to access and having the piece come apart in sections helps as well. I like the design.

what is engine-turned?

Redline S2K 01-17-2011 05:06 PM

+1 on what is engine turned.

Alloy Craft 01-17-2011 06:05 PM

Engine turned is a finish that is mechanicaly applied to metal. It is very labor intensive and expensive. Each sheet that we use to make our parts requires 4000 individual polished circles to be scribed into its surface. It is the finish on the metal in this picture, and the pictures above.

list added first page!

zeroptzero 01-18-2011 06:39 PM

come on guys lets get some more orders here. This is an awesome product, it appears to be really well designed, and looks great. If anyone has an aftermarket header this is a great mod, keeps the battery protected and is a better heat shield than the oem piece. If you ever have to remove the heatshield this will come off and go back on much easier than the oem piece thanks to the improved design. Can't wait to get mine in place.

it'S2klean 01-18-2011 09:02 PM

Plus it looks great and you cant beat the price!!

Hey buddy, Max from Heel toe just gave me the heads up that the Ignalls ETD he sold me might not fit this shield, i have the same strut bar is in this picture, but i cannot entirely tell, i think it will be a matter of half an inch if it does not clear, if so ill have it cut, but do you have any idea if this will fit by looking at it.

From looking at the pictures I think it should clear ok, but that is just an educated guess. Worst case you might have to grind a little off of the ETD mounting bracket.

SkateForGirl 02-07-2011 02:34 PM

Come on guys, 4 more :)

Price for the heat shield in polished stainless is $160 and for the radiator plate $125, total shipped in the US, for both would $280. I have them in stock and ready to ship.

Heavenat9k 03-13-2011 10:31 PM

What about the combo in black? Zip 21044. I've never removed the oem piece, how hard is the infamous lower bolt to get out?

Free shipping inside the us right now so price is $200 shipped. The infamous bolt will require some cussing and possibly busted knuckles to remove, lol.

I am very interested and close to pulling the trigger on the fuse box cover, but I was wondering if there were a way you could add a plate or something to cover the battery as well? The reason for me getting this is because I want to do hood vent mod and not worry about when it rains, as this is my daily driver...I have seen ppl say rain hasn't caused any issues with the vents but its something I want to be sure of...

Im not sure how it would attach to the heat shield. if you wanted you could try to add a panel to the fire wall or off of the fender wall.

Just sent a PM for the Heat shield + Cooling Plate combo In Black Aluminum. Both with out the Logo?

Guys I had a member try to fit one of my heatshields with the Greddy kit, and it wont fit without some pretty major modifications. Ill post some pictures later.

As for the battery cover, I dont know if this would be a good, idea because or the battery terminals. If they accidentaly touched the metal would cause acring and such.
