I burned one a while ago(stainless steel) and it did not get a lot of color. A little bluish to it but not dark like ti.
I am going to try again but it takes a loooong time to get it to change and a higher temp needed.
If I can make it them it would be the ultimate knob for sure. Super heavy with a ti burnt look.
If I can make it the price would definitely be a bit higher due to the time it will take me to hand burn each one.
I got some polished ones in now as the base finish so I will try to burn a polished one as that should show the color better and see how it looks.

Did some burning today. Not too happy with the results really. I think since it is just thick stainless steel it won't get a nice color really. I did get a really rich gold and some purple out of a polished ball but the brushed ones the color was very faint. Still waiting on the polished one to cool down before checking it out better.
I think since I am using a torch it kind of messes up the surface where it is being heated so the very top of the shift knob looks bad. To work better would need a super hot furnace or something to heat them more evenly.
They keep changing color after I stop heating even when dunked into cold water to cool so hard to stop at the right time. I will keep trying as I know this will be the ultimate shift knob if I can do it.

Would have been. Then it cooled and not so much haha. Think I need to stop heating earlier on and then let it cool as it changes a bit when cooling down still.
