Thank you! That's really helpful. Torn between this and the EVS SSP at the moment.

Default Helmholtz clearance

Has anybody had issues with the Helmholtz resonator resting on the bottom of the car? If so, what did you do to fix the issue? This is in regards to AP2.

I assume a 2006+ ap2, then the passenger floor pan on those years were redesigned. The helmholtz resonator on the stock exhaust of those years are not round like 00-05, they are rectangular to give more clearance between the floor pan and the exhaust. Check out the pictures in the below links and you'll see.

Just had this installed in a 2008 Type S (Asian CR), my stock exhaust had the rectangular helmholtz and I didn't have a problem with fitting the 70mm cleib. As for sound, I installed this along with an EVS tuning 70mm HFC and it is quite loud. This was expected as most 70mm single exits are pretty loud, but the exhaust sounds great I'd say and the sound level would sit between a EVS 70mm and a Js 70 RS. There is some drone at lower RPMs under load but it's tolerable, and cruising at certain speeds the exhaust is actually quite quiet. I haven't put a lot of miles on the exhaust but I'm liking it so far. The exhaust tip looks good with the AP2 bumper, just the right size without looking obnoxious like most single exit exhaust.

Thanks for the feedback! As a current J's 70RS owner (with a Berk 70MM HFC), I'm trying to pick between the CLEiB and the EVS SSP for a change out. How does the drone on the low end compare with the J's?

I have sat in a car with a J's 70 rs a handful of times and I would say the J's are slightly louder on the low end. I can't really give you a detailed comparison because I haven't owned a 70RS. If you're looking for a quieter exhaust, I would recommend getting the ASM single or just go for a double exit exhaust. The Cleib has a throaty pop and gurgle occasionally on deceleration, not sure if this is present in other exhausts but it makes me giggle like a little kid.
