Default 15000 mile service due, where to get it done...

I've had bad experiences with First Texas Honda and Howdy Honda already.
I wonder if anyone out there can recommend a Honda place in the Austin area, that can get the job done effectively and accurately.

thanx

Just do it yourself. All it involves is checking the hoses, brake fluid, oil change, etc. Listed in the manual. There is absolutely no reason to have a dealer do it unless you want to make a charitable donation. MHO!

I just had SB54 applied by Classic Honda in Round Rock. I'll have to say that this was one of the best dealer experiences I've ever had. The work was immaculate... the folks there were the best.

its my understanding that the dealership and the shop are two separate businesses at classic in round rock. probably that way for most dealerships. glad you had a great experience there jeff - as for me and classic, due to other issues that stem from nearly 2 years ago, I refuse to go there and persuade others from going there as well.

ever notice a bucket of lemons out by the dealership? they are there for a purpose - customer feedback from the cars they've purchased.

Classic - several brands of dealers, and the shops are a loose-knit confederation... all under one property....

I'll do your 15K mile service for 1/2 of what the dealer will rape you for...

Count your blessings that you had a positive experience at Classic (and DON'T go back). I whole heartedly agree with Schatten, and I can get you the names of at least 20 other people who have had VERY negative experiences with the whole Classic organization.

Now who thought I would have let a positive comment regarding Classic go unchallenged.....

I don't know what your situation was, or how you approached them.

But, for everyone else, remember that handling a dealer during a service process is a learned skill.

You have to be very careful how you explain what the problem is... how you approach and interact with the service writers. Body language and tone. Cooperative and listening attitutude (on both sides), versus telling them what YOU want and what they are going to do about it.

And you have to be very aware of what their policies are - what they cover and do not cover. Their policies on modifications also. The service writer has to represent all of those policies, and also has to try to find the best possible solution with you within the boundaries of those policies.

All that said, and having gone thru a bunch of terrible dealers in past lives, my experience with Classic was very very good. I'll highly recommend them - given your understanding of all the above...

Classic Body shop is good. Dunno about the service.

I had my TSB's down at First Texas Honda, and couldn't be happier.

thx all for the feedback.

The vehicle needs this done @ 15,000 miles.

Replace Engine Oil
Replace Engine Oil Filter
Rotate Tires (N/A)
Lubricate All Hinges, Latches, Door Locks and Door Weather Strips
Inspect Tires and Adjust Air Pressures, Including Spare Tire
Inspect Drive Belts
Inspect Battery and Clean Terminals
Inspect Suspension Components
Inspect Parking Brake Operation
Inspect Brake Lines and Cables
Inspect Brake System
Check Lights
Check All Fluid Level
I think I'll just take it in for the Oil Change and do the rest myself.

The 30,000 mile one needs more juice, so I'll take it to a dealer then.
Replace Engine Oil
Replace Engine Oil Filter
Replace Air Cleaner Filter
Replace Distributor Cap
Replace Distributor Rotor
Replace Air Conditioning Filter
Replace Valve Cover Gasket
Replace Valve Cover Grommets/Washers
Rotate Tires
Adjust Parking Brake

Inspect Tires and Adjust Air Pressures, Including Spare Tire
Inspect Exhaust System and Heat Shields
Inspect Drive Belts
Inspect Battery and Clean Terminals
Inspect Suspension Components
Inspect Steering Gear and Linkage
Inspect Parking Brake Operation
Inspect Brake Lines and Cables
Inspect Brake System
Inspect Wheel Alignment
