Austin Drive July 11
How about a short drive ending with lunch to beat the heat of the day? That's what we have planned for this Saturday, June 11. Let's gather at the Whole Foods on Hill Country Blvd. in the Galleria by 9:15 and pull out at 9:30. The first half of the drive will head west through some scenic areas with low water crossings and hidden treasure scenery hill country is known for. There is a chance you may see a heard of antelope along the way. We will drive through Marble Falls and take a short break. Then off through the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge before we end up at the Lone Star Grill on New Hope Road just east of 183A for lunch. Bring your sun screen and coolers. The drive will take just less than three hours. Please respond if you can make it or send your regrets.

hey guys, think I am going to set this one out. Have a big night planned Friday and I'm sure it's going to boil over into very early Saturday morning. already started taking the car apart for version 3.0 too.
love the drive idea though, sounds like a fun route. I'll catch the next one. hopefully with my car all back together.

I posted this on the 'other' site but thought I'd post it here, too. As many of us know (esp those of us with black interiors), it can get really hot riding in the car during the heat of the summer. It's supposed to be 94 on Saturday, so definitely not the hottest but can still be unpleasant with any humidity.
I'd recommend picking one of the cooling towels up like this for the warm drives and to keep the sun off your necks. I use one when I am working out at the ranch during the heat of the summer. Works great. All you do is get it wet and it activates something to where it feels legitimately cold.

Great drive put on and designed by Greg and Alison this morning. It was short and sweet, ending with a great lunch. We were 17 people altogether! Fantastic!
