I am going to have paint work done-- how long should I wait before stoneguarding on new paint?

It depends on a few things. If you are just having a few chips taken care of, you don't really need to wait very long at all, just make sure you point out the spots to the installer so he can be careful in those areas. If you are getting a big part of your car repainted, you will need to ask the person doing the re-paint about how long it will be until the paint cures, which could be anywhere from a week to several months.
