Default Coilover Install

Does anyone have any experience installing coilovers? Got some in the mail, thinking about trying to knock them out myself to save a few bucks.

hey. if you just go to the search box and look up DIY coilovers, you will come across how to go about it. i just did mine over the weekend with another s2k member. it should take you about 4 hours to do. the front are super easy. the rears but envolve removing part of the trunk liner and some other things in the way of the rear driver side shock..if you take a look at the link bollow and follow these steps you will be set..

I just installed mine a couple weeks ago and it's really really easy. The document mentioned above is pretty much spot on. If you want to make your life just a bit easier I would suggest removing the rear strut brace (7 bolts, 10mm or 12mm I believe) and also bending the fuel filler neck out of the way (open gas cap and remove 3 8mm nuts and there's also a 10 or 12mm nut in the trunk. I zip-tied mine out of the way to access the driver's side shock tower nuts. Let me know if you need some help; I was able to solo it with a jack and basic tools.

Cool, sent you a PM with my number to text. Good luck on the fender rolling; I did that for the first time on the Miata last month and it came out decent. Be sure to use a heat gun so you don't crack the paint.

I highly recommend going to Auto Zone and renting their spring compressor kit. I needed them to get the OEM suspension off. I think its like $70, but you get all your money back when you return it.

Pshhhhhh, just use a coat hanger

**Please do not use a coat hanger, because that would just be silly and dangerous
