Really? You don't need a spring compressor if you're removing the whole stock assembly. I just removed (1) brake line bolts (2) bottom control arm bolt (3) top shock tower nuts and (4) the top control arm bolts and I pulled the fronts out easily. The rears were very similar. No spring compressor needed. Follow that guide linked in one of the first few posts.

I rolled the fenders on my Miata and it was no biggie but that was b/c it was my track car. I would suggest having Miles from the Z club or a shop do them. I used a borrowed Eastwood fender roller on mine.

Thats how I tried to do it too, but the the whole assembly kept extending. It extended down further then the lower control arm could go, and it got jammed. I had to compress the assembly to pop it out. The front left was so much of a pain that I had to use a jack to compress it even further. My whole experience with this project just sucked.

Hi, I own a performance shop over off 1604 and patranco. address is 1865 grosenbacher called Texas performance Imports. can call my cell if you would like tomorrow. 210-843-8331 I can install coil overs. If you want to swing by tomorrow I am free for the most part other then this supra. can get it in and out pretty fast. Maybe 2 hours or so. Would run $80 full install if I am just installing the coil overs.
Thanks,
TPI

Did you remove the top screw that keeps everything compressed together before removing the shock assembly? That should stay in place until it's removed from the car. If not, something must have been wrong. I pressed down on the lower control arm with my foot and was able to remove the top of the shock from the shock-tower. Same on the Miata.
