Default DO I NEED NEW TIRES?

do i need new tires? when i shift at 8000rpm the car fishtails a little....for example shifting from 1st to 2nd at the redline the tail wants to slide a little...you guys think i need new tires...the tread in the middle of the rear tires is kinda worn out but it still has tread left....and what are good tires for city driving that last long? toyos, pirellis, goodyear, or should i stick to the bridgestone tires that come with the S2000?

Let us know exactly what tire brand and sizes you have. The only times I have slipped was in the cold/wet or when I had some average all-season tires. I run better all-seasons now without a problem.

Got a digital camera? If you do, take a picture from the rear of the car at ground level of both rear tires. If the insides of both tires are low on tread, they need replaced. Normally we go through 2 sets of rears for 1 rear of front.

The stock tires are NOT the size that is stamped on the sides. They are larger. So keep that in mind. Also you don't want to mix tires brands/models on the car.

And lastly, don't try to drive the tires until there is nothing left. There is numerus threads on other owners that have, and crashed the car because of it.

Opps, you have an 04, I know less about those tires and their sizing. The AP2 (00-03) had differant tires and those are the ones that the size differs.

i never like the stock tires on the 04s. they just never feel right. you will find that the rear tires wears out 2 twices as fast as the fronts.

I am on khumo 712s right now. not the best, but I only use it to drive around town.

look at the inner edge of the rear tires, do they look worn to you?
