Post Heading down to S.Padre this weekend

I've never been, so I was hoping to get the inside scoop from any locals or folks who frequent the area regarding restaurants, pubs, things-to-do, etc.

And it doesn't have to be limited to the island. If you've got some info. on anything in Port Isabel, Laguna Heights, Laguna Vista, etc. Let me know.

Thanks in advance.

dang, I should've went there. I took my wife and I down to Surfside and it was ok. At least the water wasn't as brown (actually somewhat clear, could see fish and shrimp swim by your toes). Galveston on the other hand was still brown and cloudy like coffee

I don't think my baby can stand the long drive

Next time, I'll drop baby off with the grandparents and jump on a plane to Bahamas (I wish...)

I havent been to the island since like 04? Basically it is just a long straight strip so you dont have to worry about getting lost.Sorry but I dont have any certain recommendations.

we stopped once to eat and let the boys stretch their legs

Also a DVD player helps entertain them

My sister actually just got back from there last week ... said it was probably the best vacation her & my brother-in-law have ever been on. Think they stayed at Atlantis.
