BMW Autocross this Saturday
 

Just wanted to let everyone know this was coming up. If you haven't been, but have been to an S2k one, it's very similar. Big, open course, well run, lots of fun. Check the Events page at http://www.s2000.org.

If you've never been to one at all, here's your chance to see just what your car can do. If you are hesitant, you can still come out and ride along with people...

Date: Saturday the 17th
Place: Mineral Wells (an hour west of FW)
Time: Be there by 9am
Price: $25 (IIRC)

Bring lunch (or money), water, sunscreen, a helmet (if you have one, I will have one loaner with me). You will get 8 laps for your $25 on a course that will likely be about 1 to 1.5 minutes in length (a little under a mile). You can expect to hit speeds upwards of 70mph or more.

David R, are you bringing out the big guns to this event? Please bring the passenger seat if so. :)

I'll be there ... hoping to beat David R's big guns.

I will be bringing the Prelude but it will be wearing very worn Kumhos:(

Your going to be on your 15's again?

Yep, my worn 15's (two DE's and 4 autocrosses) and a little Formula V Tire Traction Treatment to see if it works.

Do you have to have some sort of membership to run? Never been to one but would like to try it.

No membership is required- just bring $25 to race, or nothing if you just want to ride along (they allow passengers). Sunscreen is a good idea as well as lunch or lunch money if you stay all day.

If you race you do have to cornerwork... for newbies this will consist of standing at a corner station and watching. There should be 2 other people to work a radio (calling in cones) and shag cones that get knocked over.

What time will you be leaving the McDonalds? I go right past it on the way. Might be fun to convoy.
