Can You Help the Club Out Next Year
Hi Folks,
As we wrap up a successful year we begin looking to next year. With that in mind, we find our selves looking for a few members that are willing to help the club out with events and activities in 2007 so that next year will be a better year for the club than 2006. If you think you can help in some way, please join us at the Club Meeting that is scheduled immediately prior to the Christmas/Holiday Party on Dec. 9th.

My Grandparent's generation were "members"; they belonged. They belonged to dinner clubs, bridge clubs, photography clubs, shooting clubs, and fishing clubs. Their circle of friends was broad. My Grandfather was an engineer at a refinery, but he played bridge with a florist and golf with a sailing instructor. I think our sense of community has been somewhat lost by our mobile and isolated society. We know our small circle but are clueless about those nearby.
This is all written because I value this club because of the variety of people I have met through it. And clubs such as ours is not inherently self-perpetuating. New people need to come in and participate on an ongoing basis. [Many of you may not know that NTS2KOC almost ceased to exist after the Dot.com bust in 2001. If it weren't for Stefan and a few others, we would be just waving at eachother as we passed on the road.]
Please volunteer for something... anything. Also, invite others to join the group.

I'll try and make it there a bit early, I don't know how I could be of service but perhaps some photography/article for our events on the s2k.org website?
I was also thinking about co-organizing or organizing a trip down to the Houston Grand Prix in April 07 (20-22). I had a great time last year and Clovis did a great job. I think a few people had a blast and were interested in going back again next year.

I would LOVE to hand over the s2000.org web site to someone. It would be nice to find someone with a reliable host & good web knowledge (not just a copy of Frontpage). I will be more than happy to help transition the site to someone else who will love and care for it more than I have been able to (more like what it deserves!).
