Default City of Denton Traffic Court

Can anybody that's been to Denton City traffic court share their experience with me? I got a speeding ticket last night despite the fact that I wasn't speeding, and I plan to take it before a judge.

Thanks.

Why would the officer say you were speeding when you weren't?

I've had my pickup for over 2 years and now that I own a GPS do I realize that with the speedo needle directly on the mark of the posted speed, it reads up to 5 MPH slow... Just saying, I did not know I was speeding till I got the device.

The officer was mistaken or lying. I was going slower than the traffic around me.

My ticket alleges I was going 47 in a 35. If my speedometer were off by that much, you'd think I'd have gotten a speeding ticket in the 3 years I've owned this car.

OK, just was an idea... I was traveling down southlake blvd and i was literally picked out of a crowd to get a speeding ticket... As I was getting pulled over, I was like WTF, cause I had no idea why I was getting pulled over. I just got the deferred and called it a day as i did not feel fighting it was worth the time off work or personally.

It still sucks though man

It does suck. I almost wish I was speeding. If that were the case, I would just do defensive driving or deferred and be done with it.

I'm pretty sure he decided I was the one speeding because of the yellow sportscar.

I figure yellow and red are the worst in that department... what city or location were you at?

In Denton, northbound on Carroll Blvd (hwy 377.) Had just pulled out of the gas station, and hadn't gotten 200 yards when the officer pulled out and lit me up.

basically go on ur court date, say ur innocent. They will reschedule for a meeting with the prosecutor. Talk to him about it, and if the officer isn't there with the prosecutor it will most likely be dropped.

yea, you're pretty much screwed unless you have video of your dash and the officer to corroborate your story

Cool. So I have a chance to talk the prosecutor out of it before I ever go to court?
