I think a factory vinyl bra will do more harm than good. The back of it tends to collect dust and sand and can act as a sandpaper...

The factory doesn't offer one. It must be aftermarket.

I have the Invisible Shield full front setup installed by Steve (I think that was his name) in Houston at DriverSource. The "other site" membership includes a 10% discount for the installation. I don't know exactly which material he used (pretty sure it's the exact same as 3M/X-pel), but quite a few of the Houston area members are happy with it, and mine has held up extremely well after 10k+ miles of abuse. It looks disgusting right now because the car hasn't been washed in a LONG time, so I couldn't tell you if it's going to be yellow compared to my GPW paint, but every single clear installation that I've seen by him (on Lamborghinis, Porsches, Ferraris) has NOT yellowed over time.

I bought mine as a combination setup between Rockblocker and X-pel, and with installation it cost me right at $500. The same cost holds for a full setup cut and installed Steve.

I don't have any pictures now- but after I wash the car (whenever that is) I'll try to post some up.

What about the vinyl wraps? The material should be durable enough and if cut right should fit the MDX's seams and be failry "invisible." Now, I'm not sure how the rest of the car would fade over time but under the vinyl doesn't fade.

Just a thought, no actual experience though.

Oh... looking back at your original post:

Cost can vary quite a bit even with the same material. Taking the S2000 as an example, you can get the entire X-pel setup for about $1k, or you can have a custom installer with the same coverage done for about $300-400. The MDX will probably be more expensive since it has quite a bit more surface area, but it does have a simpler geometry to wrap around.

If you go with a custom setup, try to find an installer that will wrap the edges of the clear vinyl around the edges of your metalwork. It makes the installation a LOT cleaner. Mine does NOT have this since I did it on an insurance claim so I have visible edges (not noticeable unless you really look), but the wrapped install looks much nicer.
