Man, I should've looked for ya, AG! I was out there, though I wasn't running.

How is the new 3.1? I'm debating on running in three weeks with the Apex Driving Academy, though I'm not sure if they're running the 3.1 or the 1.7.
I'm pretty sure Apex doesn't drive the full 3.1 as I've checked their website before wondering the same question.

Personally. I prefer the 1.7 to the 3.1. With the 1.7 you could have plenty of laps in a session. It gave you time to work on the same corner multiple times. The new section is a bit too technical without enough passing zones. I think I prefer TWS more now.

Both tracks are better than MSR - Houston.

I've driven the 1.7 course on countless weekends. I know it sounds weird, but the 1.7 has actually gotten boring. I went out there for a member day a few weeks ago and actually only ran it one session before retiring for the day. It's gotten a bit old.

I then rode with my friend in his new Viper Coupe for the next session. That was an experience.

Anyway, I guess track time is better than no track time, but the 3.1 is going to take me a while to figure out. Some of the corners are so technical, there are multiple ways to take it and figuring out the ideal one for my car will be fun.

The 3.1 course is FAR more entertaining for many reasons. Sure it will take longer to master, but you'll have tons more fun getting there.

The 2007 TDE schedule has been posted. Eagles Canyon is in the process of being paved so it looks like it will be a go for early next year. Everyone I've talked to about Eagles Canyon that has actually been out to the track says it will be a very good track for racing with lots of passing zones and 70' of elevation change.

January 13 - 14 Eagles Canyon (Sanger) Tentative Date waiting on track completion.
February 03 - 04 Motorsport Ranch (Ft. Worth)
March 03 - 04 Texas World Speedway (College Station)
Mar.30

Yeah, I got the schedule from TDE, and noticed that there were tentative dates for Eagles Canyon. The top-down view doesn't look like a particularly exciting track, but maybe it'll be different once we get on it.

What's the name of the track that's being built on the east side of Dallas? Anybody know the scheduled completion date?

Yeah, even the new MSR section looks a bit boring from overhead - certainly doesn't drive that way though.

If you look closely at this picture of EC that was taken last week you can see the elevation changes that will make this track very challenging.
