On the surface ECR does not seem like a technical track. But when you look at the 11 turns and double apex v. single apex it can take on a different light. I have run 100s of laps there and I am still dropping lap times.

Definitely agree with Ken's post.

ECR can be fun. Not my favorite track or the best one for an S2000, but it does have challenges to it that differ from some of the other local tracks. It doesnt really have any high speed turns like MSR and HHR, which can have you at 90+ mph through the corners.....but like stated earlier, there are more double apexs, a chicane, quite a bit of elevation change in areas, etc. that do make it interesting.
It is still fun to go out and try to improve. My first few times out I could not hit 100mph on the long straight. My last time out I was close to 112mph and dropped my lap times from ~2:20's to 2:08's.

With ECR being such a power course, the lap times are going to be so dependent on density altitude. If you go on a day when DA is 1200 feet, your top speeds and lap times are going to be much worse than a day when DA is -1200 feet.

Certainly not the 12 seconds you're talking about, but I think it could easily be 6 seconds for the course and 6 MPH on the longest straight.
When I had my Lexus between S2000's, I was involved in a drag time war with a few ClubLexus members. These guys going back to the drag strip every weekend trying to find the magic DA that would grasp the forum title of "Quickest Known IS350". It was amazing how much difference DA made. One guy got a 13.2 @ 104 one weekend when DA was ~600 feet, then a 12.8 @ 112 the next weekend when DA was -900 feet. It was a nearly stock IS350 with automatic transmission, so it wasn't a difference in technique ...

See, you are almost proving my point. Four tenths of a second difference over a quarter mile. The longest straight at ECR is about 2000 ft, yes? There are about four decent straights around a quarter mile length. Thats only a couple seconds. Speed through the corners is limited by grip, not power. I dont see that kind of change yielding a six second difference.
