Default I don't do track days because....

I know there are tons of S2000 owners that do not track their car (or they are with Drivers Edge or NASA and I don't see them). I am wondering if you frequent this board but do not track your car what is the reason.

I do track it and based on the lack of responses, I expected to see more people out at the track.

Great!!!! With which group? NASA? Drivers Edge? other?

I thought about trying to hook up with Texas Track Works or Vorshlag to do ChumpCar, but I haven't yet pursued trying to buy in because limited hobby budget.

no group. i have only been to ECR (cue ECR hate in 3...2..1...) because they have affordable open track days (+ good lemons practice!) and i can get there, do a full day, and get home without needing a hotel. wife has been with me twice in her turbo MCS as well.

i would love to do MSR or some of the other tracks but a 2 day commitment doesn't sound as appealing.

Apex does 1 day events @ MSRC.

I can't wait to get my S2000 up here so I can start joining the local track junkies for some fun.

I do Apex because of the one day commitment. I also have done Driver's Edge only on Saturday. Just have to ask them and you can do only one day with them.

I just looked at the NTAXS Autocross results and there are multiple people who regularly Autocross their s2ks. I believe that is where most s2k drivers are located.

Yeah, understood, that is exactly what happened to the Type R group... Some went to other cars and some just went away. But what did happen is that as the cars became cheaper in the used car market, the demographic became much younger who had a bunch of different interests that did not include the same interests as the original owners. I can imagine that is what happened/ing to the S2000 as a car no longer in production and definitely decreasing in price.
