Tip install looks nice. I would have had them cut the oem piping back a little and create a flare from the stock diameter to the 2.5" outlet for a smoother transition & cleaner weld.
I agree that the welds look pretty horrendous, but it would have been MUCH more difficult, time consuming, and expensive to make it much better. I also don't think there would be more than 1 HP improvement. I don't know if I mentioned in the other thread, but the OEM pipe extends into the Magnaflow muffler about an inch, so there is basically just a sharp increase in diameter by about .25". There shouldn't be any exhaust flowing over the inside of those welds.

Here is the video. I'm not very satisfied with the quality of the audio, since there is a much more significant difference in sound in person than is captured here.

I don't know what that noise is, but I don't hear it from the inside. I think that might be the sound Lane mentioned to me at the last autocross.

I wonder if that metallic noise could be from a loose bolt, or something from my flywheel install ...

I was thinking about doing this but seeing as how mufflers are gonna be at least $100 each I'll just stick to my exhaust mod. Exhaust mod ftw! No seriously though I did a exhaust mod completely free (39mm inside diameter I think) and it sounds great! More "growl" down low and sounds mean up top. A tiny bit raspy maybe but if you just want better sound then do the exhaust mod. Although switching to magnaflow mufflers supposedly can drop almost 30lbs!
