Talking Mechanic inside here, Dallas

NO LONGER WORK ON SIDE.
Moved from Austin to Dallas and starting up my side work on my favorite community. My name is Ian Crosson. I've been a professional mechanic since 2000, that's 18 years of turning wrenches. I started out at German Motors in Corpus Christi and worked my way up every since. I have worked on over 20 local S2000's in Austin area and have always worked to impress. From valve adjustments, replacing engines, replacing heads, diagnosing misfires that are hard to determine and installing any performance part you can think of. I have all the specialty tools you can think of, welding machine, press for those impossible suspension bushings and tons of spare S2000 parts. . I'm the person you contact because you don't trust just 99% of mechanics (or claimed mechanics) out there and want one guy with all the expertise and tools.

Here is link to prior thread and recommendations

Below are some of the things that I've done in recent years. S2000
-Engine harness swap
-Engine swap (4 so far)
-Front upper control arm reinforcement welded (Ap1 BIG problem)
-Oil pan replacement (love my Canton)
-Custom wire harness extension and wiring in new sensors
-Fuse box relocation
-Battery relocation to rear (Just did my best work on buddies Ap2)
-Valve adjustment, AP1 valve retainer and keeper replacement
-Replaced cylinder head
-Clutch/Flywheel installation (love showing off my Ian finger alignment tool)
-AEM ECU installation and tuning (I am certified to tune cars, but until I use a dyno in Austin I won't touch others ECU ignition/fuel tables).

E46 M3
-Rear subframe reinforcement (4 hours of welding alone)
-CSL carbon fiber intake installation and reinforcement
-Custom mounts for APR splitter
-Clutch job (Technically another shop messed this up, told my friend he needed a new trans after removing trans twice, I resolved after 2min inspection)

E36 M3
-Rear subframe reinforcement (4 hours of welding here too)

Carbon fiber
-Look at AeroHeroComposites on InstaGram

Yes!! I'll send you a laundry list of things my 2002 needs. I'd like to do a rebuild of my suspension with new bushings and control arm ball joints.

Not in any kind of rush.

Knocked out a valve adjustment and oil change. Found a couple missing screws, but luckily i'm a storage facility for spare S2000 bolts haha.

Cooling engine for Valve Job.

Sorry back in Austin I was so busy it was hard justifying that job. You do not want to know the man hours and difficulty your first time trying it.

I've been having such a good time working on cars as of late. On Ismael's car we learned that autozone (or any non OE) brand axles do not make for a happy S2000. 2019 I'm going to do a better job taking pictures.

Wonderful PPI service on a used AP2 I was looking at. Ian took brilliant photos, videos, and went through the car from exterior, interior, mechanical, powertrain in depth, and did a great walk through on the car on film with commentary.

Outstanding guy for the S2k community! Would make him my dedicated mechanic no question if I were to ever move to DFW, and take some track lessons with him as well!

As long as Ian is in Dallas, he will be the only person to work on my car if not myself! He recently completed an engine swap and clutch replacement for me on my 05 AP2. He's super easy to communicate with and very prompt as well. His attention to detail and meticulousness is bar none! You can definitely tell that Ian treats each car as if it is his very own. It's easy and safe to say that he goes above and beyond expectation. I am truly ecstatic to have my baby up and running again thanks to him. Hire this man!
