I would say Keller has one of the best isd in Fort Worth. Not sure about rest. Taxes are a PITA there though. I would think the tcu area would have nice houses but I dont travel there often enough to know. Colleyville is super nice but you can find homes less expensive and same size else where. Some nice properties off of bonds ranch/287 area, and the drive would be easy. Not sure on schools though.

^^^ I'm already paying $8K/yr. in property taxes here in Austin, so I'm used to writing those painful checks every December. Yes, I know Colleyville may not be the best bang for the buck, but gotta consider quality of schools and other factors. Everywhere I've looked up there so far seems less expensive than my neighborhood in Austin, so we'll end up w/ a nicer home &/or a smaller mortgage no matter what.

I hear a lot of great things about Keller, but also warnings about how bad commuting to SW Ft. Worth would be having to use I35. May scout out some back roads when I have a little free time to see it there are any viable options to I35.

So far, I've enjoyed my first week in Fort Worth, and am looking forward to exploring the area and meeting new folks.

35 isn't all that bad, but then I'm comparing it to Dallas. I make that run all the time.

But there are 2 north south side roads that you can take, depending upon where you want to end up. Right now they are in the middle of building another High 5 type intersection at 820 & 35 so things will be some sort of a mess for a while to come.
