If your windows won't go down (ie Window fuse) then the top won't go down either since it needs to roll the windows down to put the top down.

look to see if your switch is plugged in. When I put in my yellow leather console cover I forgot to plug it back in when I put everything back together.

oh, if my top didn't work i'd be trying to get it fixed ASAP, i want to see what his problem was and that he got it fixed

Maybe he had a hard top and wondered why it would not go down with the switch...
