Default SpeedVentures: Sept TWS Event Question

Anyone who knows about the SpeedVentures stuff, I'm lookin' at you.

Their Sept. event is billed as a "nationals runoff" event. What exactly does this mean? I know that if you opt to rent timers for their events, you can build up points in the series, but I'm not sure about the runoff thing.

Basically, you can treat it as a regular DE if you want.

I'm not exactly sure what the format is going to be, but they're billing this event as the one for all the people accross the nation who have been doing SpeedVentures events to come to for one last bash. I don't know if it's going to be a self-contained deal or is simply another event to get points from, but they're looking to get some of the California crazies like Hiyashi out here.

Personally, I'm totally looking forward to this since I'd love to see how I stack up against those maniacs, but can't make it out to CA. (I'm hoping my familiarity with TWS will really help me out. )

So are you two going?

I might be in for it, but wouldn't want to go by myself considering I am not familiar with TWS or format. I would like to get down and drive the course once before this event. I would like to see how I stack up also.

Yeah, I'm going - already have my Manor House reservation. There are lots of opportunities to drive the course before then - Drivers Edge, PCA, and the TWS club itself.

I'm still pondering it, but I will probably go for the Sat. and Sun. days since I'd get to drive the normal direction and backwards. I'll probably be going.

I just signed up. $370 including the timing transponder. Kind of steep, but it will be good to get out there and compare my driving ability to more 'famous' people around the country. hehe.
