will an ap2 Differential fit an ap1 ?

OK so my differential blew last night... will an ap2 Differential fit an ap1?... (04-08 fit an 00-03) and is there any benefit to doing so or should I just stick with an ap1?

You should check the UTH forum, but I'm pretty sure the answer is yes.

Yes but you need to change a flange or something like that.

yes you need to change the output flange (ie, keep your ap1 output flange and put it on the ap2 diff), unless you are getting an ap2 transmission as well.

ap2 diff is a little stronger and the gearing is a little different, lots of people say f20c with ap2 gearing is a better match up than f20c with ap1 gearing.

AP2 diff is indeed stronger but it has the same final drive (4.10) as the AP1.

The AP2 transmission is geared shorter and provides an excellent match to the AP1 motor as it boosts torque (mechanically) to the wheels while still allowing for that glorious redline. ;)

Actually, by "check" I meant "search". :p

I did a search on "diff swap" in the "UTH:Technical" forum and this was the 3rd result:

04 dif swap into 00-03

I think it has all the answers you need.
