And the winner is....per Car and Driver magazine...

Our beloved S2000!
Just opened my Aug Car and Driver to find a 5 roadster test comparison: Audi TT Quattro, BMW Z4 3.0, Honda S2000, Nissan 350Z Touring (2004), and Porsche Boxster.

I was surprised, since the car hasn't received much Press since its intro year. To quote C&D on the S2K:

HIGHS: Sensual intensity right up there with grabbing a bare high-voltage wire, clutch and shifter as perfect together as Rogers and Astaire, cockpit fits like your favorite jeans.

LOWS: Freeway cruising, and resisting the impulse to rip off nine-grand shifts in bursts of five.

THE VERDICT: A four-wheeler with crotch-rocket DNA.

350Z placed 2nd, Boxster was 3rd, Z4 was 4th and the Audi came in last.

Yeah, but they didn't give enough details about the '04 2.2 litre engine.

I didn't think that was happening until '05

But they did say the 9K redline was lowered along w/more torguq. And that the suspension was softened for better quality. [Hopefully not at the expense of handling] Subtly different front and rear fascias, new interior trim and oval tail pipes for 2004

I agree thats totally awesome! On its coming end too. Just think how the S2200 will do against them if it turns out how we hope :eek3: . Im gonna go finish up C&D right now, lol i always finish them the day i get um.

Road & Track August (July?) issue also just picked the S2000 over the 350Z roadster that's coming out this fall. They liked the 350Z better on the track (more "predictable," but the times were pretty much the same), but loved the S for public-road twisties. Heh-heh-heh.... :burnrubr:
