Default 16" Tyre Sizes

Hi all. Have read the FAQ and have seen the suggested tyre sizes for a 99-03. I've seen a set of wheels come up for sale locally with nearly new tyres but I'm not sure if they will be OK.

The rears are 225/50/16 Toyo's - Which should be fine according to FAQ. But I wonder if 245 would be better.

Fronts are 205/50/16 and this is not the 205/55/16 suggested in FAQ. Is this a big problem?

This may have come up before by my searches return no close matches.

Thanks

You cant put 245 on the rear, otherwise that would require 245/40

The second figure is aspect ratio in % height of the sidewall / by the tyre's width. You have 16's not 17's.

For the front 205/55 has he not made a mistake?, the correct size should be 55.

Thanks for that. The rears should be fine then or would i be better off getting 245/40/16's?

The fronts are definitely 50 profile not 55 which is concerning me.

Eh? Do the fronts need to be 225 in a Toyo? You sure? It was the aspect ratio I was unsure of, didn't realise they would also need to be wider.

No, the fronts are 205, not 225. s2000malta has made a mistake there.

It's all correct in the FAQ. Those front tyres are the wrong size.

Thanks, so 205/55 on the front. 205/50 would be no good? They currently have 225/50 on the back, but some people are saying they should be 245 with an aspect ratio of ?

225s are fine, the 245 thing is sort of true, but it's not necessary really.
