Have you tried the Nitrous yet Lloyd?
More of damage than crashing...
We just put a 50bhp shot on a Supra mk4 3.0 NA, pulled an extra 46bhp at the wheels on the rollers! thats only using a 14mm jet into the throttle body!!!!

To summarise then -
There is a saving on unsprung weight but thats as long as the 17" wheels are lighter than the 18" alloys.
17" are more comfortable because of a larger tyre wall.
18" may look a bit too big on the front.
I still don't get it. Theres nothing there to back up the phrase 17 for go 18 for show, apart from that the ride may be a bit harsher, but thats comfort not performance.

It all depends on what you are expecting out of the deal, 18's by nature will give a harsher ride due to the lower profile of the tyre - also make higher demands on the performance of the tyre, therefore the choice of tyre becomes increasingly critical (and of course subjective) Unsprung weight has already been covered. 17's are less of an issue and will feel more 'predictable' in most conditions, so the choice is spend a lot of money and get it spot on - or compromise.
Undeniably, the right package on 18's looks the nuts, but a lot of people underestimate the compromise in ride quality and handling they can potentially bring.
nuff said?

Kahn RSV's.
I didnt put them on, so i have no idea about the offset. They dont rub and the car handles fine. It oversteers a bit too much if you push it hard - but that's cos it's got 225's all round and it needs 245's on the back and 205/215 on the front - planning on doing that early next year once christmas is out of the way.
