Could anyone summarise the pros and cons of running 18s on the rear and 17s on the front please? I am running OEM 16s at present, but am looking at 18 R and 17 F. I have never run 'non-standard' wheels before and would be grateful for any input you guys can give. Cheers! Guy.

Getting work done on the Geometry on my car at the mo by a reknown chap, he recommended strongly that I keep the car with the standard 16"s

18"s are very fashionable ATM though

This was the configuration that Southern Counties were selleng a few years back.

I can remember some people on here buying them and I know that Fazer1K still has a set of them.

Camille is absolutely on the money.

The Del Sol is a very light construction by modern standards an 15" really is the upper limit.

However, Camille is pissing in the wind in an age where appearance is everything and people cannot be bothered to know facts or investigate stuff and need to be told what they like by the 'Style Wankers'.

Naturally-occurring aesthetic ratios mean that with its unusually low bonnet line, the S2000 looks deformed with 18" wheels on the front. In the same way that Elton John looked absurd in the giant platform shoes as 'Pinball Wizard' in the film 'Tommy'.

I swapped from std 16's to my current 18" setup and would not go back, yes the ride is harder and yes it tramlines a bit in the slow lane of the motorway but in all other areas (inc. grip, handling, looks) is far better.

I think one key reason for this is that the wheels are forged so very light for 18's and close to the original's weight.

I will be swapping the rear back to 245's though. 255's are no fun - too much grip!
