1st service costs
As it is now time for my first service I thought I would make a few calls to check prices near to me.
First the Cornes dealership (London's largest Honda dealer apparently)
Southall -

Yep it is indeed, well actually its my 12months service as I haven't yet hit 9000 miles (currently at 6500)
I may not have done the mileage but I have done the VTEC'ing
But as you see even the cheapest was still

Seriously though, the service prices for the S2000 are reasonable.

I am currently hunting for a decent dealer to take good care of my car (Edenbridge Honda did a great job on my Civic VTEC/Civic VTi/Prelude VTEC but they have gone bust - Bastards!!!).
I spoke to the service manager at Cornes Ewell on the phone and he seemed moderatly clued up on the S2000, so I was going to give then a wirl - I would be really interested to hear how you get on with them - I know it is only a 9000 inspection/oil/filter change service, and there is not really too much scope for error - but any impressions you have on the place and their people may help to allay my paranoia a little!

Due to a woman driving into my parked car I have had some dealings with Cornes already (and Graham Hugget teh service Manager). So far, I have not been particularly impressed, it took 3 attempts to get the headlights aligned even vaguely properly (even after giving them a picture), also the bodyshop they use (external company) scratched my interior, sprayed the engine bay with polish, scratched the alloys etc etc etc. Cornes have put most of it right and are doing the rest with the service, but its not been a bed of roses so far.
In fairness, most of the problems have been caused by the bodyshop, not part of Cornes, rather than Cornes themselves, hence the reason why they are still getting my business.
I will let you know my opinion post service.

Hi Ross,
Yes, I remember you posting details of your experiences with the bodyshop - as you say, that was the bodyshop, hopefully Cornes are a somewhat different outfit. I have had recomendations - Dog Biscuit bought an ITR from them and used them for service and was suitably impressed. Hopefully they are still on the ball - I look forward to hearing how you get on (especially the remedial work). Good luck
