1st service low mileage oil query
So at the end of Jan my RNBP 04 is due for the first service.
Normally, this wouldn't worry me in the slightest.
However, it's the 12mnth or 9K oil change that has me wondering...BECAUSE
I've done a really really low mileage this year - around 5K.
Now - what is going to be the correct procedure here - I thought I'd ask you lot as the stealer will probably not know the answer...
Is it :
a.) Change the oil anyway. Out with the old and in with the new.
or
b.) Leave it in ???
c.) Get out on the road and do over 4K miles in the next 30 days....

I was in the same situation as you except that I had my oil changed at 6 months (3k miles) and again at first service (5.4k miles).
My personal view is that frequency of oil changes contributes a huge amount to engine life. I will continue to have mine changed every 6 months regardless of mileage.
Just make sure that you insist on both 10w30 MINERAL oil and on the molybdenum additive for any low mileage oil changes. The Honda part No. for the moly on my two receipts is H082099991U. It's supplied by Honda but made by Hamp.
