Default 2019 Tax Changes

Good evening everyone,

Does anyone know if the s2000's on the £500 p/a tax bracket will face further tax increases this year?

Apologies if this has been covered already I couldnt find anything on a quick search.

Regards

Yes, band L £540, so £230 more than the approx March 01 to March 06 ones which are £310, and £285 more than those older than that, which are £255.

They all seem to go up every year.

Just taxed mine too, £540 for 4K approx Miles annually, is it time to do away with it and did a penny to fuel? Although the other car costs £20 so as an average it’s £280 at 6k miles, is this acceptable then.

At least I get a few months back as it's SORNed for 5 months of the year. Still a disgrace when someone driving round in an old shitter of a diesel of similar age is paying a quarter of the cost.

Is it cheaper to tax it for 1 year, and then after 6 months SORN It to get the 6 months refund, or is it cheaper to just pay for the 6 months in one go?

The former. Six months tax carries a surcharge.

You can see all the options here: https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-...r-1-march-2001
