Default 4 Piece OEM Mat Fitting Help

Just taken delivery of some very nice OEM 4 piece RED mats from Honda Carlisle (£110 inc postage). The instructions however seem to be a literal translation of Japanese and I don't fully understand them.

I am not clear on exactly where to cut the 'floor mat' which I take to mean the carpet and not the new mats!! Does anyone have any pictures of the fitting process rather than just the finished article??

Thanks in advance!

You do not HAVE to cut the carpet, a few of us haven't, and have suffered no problems.

Put the brackets over the cross member, and place the eyes of the mats onto the brackets...sorted.

Easy way to do it

Put the front mats in, put the clips over the crossmember and line them up - now you can see where the clips need to sit. Cut along side ( the hole needs to be no more than 2cm square. You can see where the cut needs to be by looking at the hole in the clips.

Pop the blue clips in and screw the clips down to them.

Took me 15 minutes in the car park the other morning

I found you could fit three of the 4 blue screw plugs by simply lifting the carpet at the sills and putting your hand under to locate them.

I wouldnt bother fitting the screws. I've had mine fitted without the screws and they have'nt budged an inch. I did however slit the carpet and feed the fixing brackets through the carpet

I think the premarked holes are only on newer cars - I had to drill all 4 of mine in!!!!!

screws for me - drill through carpet and into cross member - screws directly into there

(fitted those mats to a 2000my - they dont come with the square cutouts for the proper plastic 'nuts')
