Default 54k Service in Southampton

Ok, so after much research and 'searching' the forums there are so many prices and varying offers but the easy route as I wanted to buy extended warranty was Honda dealer Southampton (local)

I called Honda Southampton initially and spoke to a lovely girl... clearly she got what she wanted hahah. Booked in with the service next Friday for just over £600... also they have an offer on for 3 years warranty on my 55 plate car 699 (set price) for full manufacturers warranty as if it was brand new. It covers everything from wheel bearings to non wear clutch issues etc etc. Finally was sold into a service plan and 10% card off all of it...

After hanging up I removed my balls from my mouth and did some more research I would actually use!
Finding that other Honda dealerships will do the service with me providing the fluids and plugs at £238 as well as TGM doing the service for £380 and DMS at £360 however I really wanted the warranty so I am covered.

I called back with this information in my hand and a mind not to get lost in a nice voice of a girl being able to talk about cars with passion and enthusiasm! I was told they couldn't discount more than 10% without a manager but she would speak to him and call me in the morning (as usual I never expect a call back as 90% never do)

She was kind enough to go through the warranty what it covers as well as understanding how much I love my S2000 and was weary about dealer servicing from the horror stories and wanted it right, I was told the other service department chap had one and was the same, guaranteed all would be done to the very best level and the top foreman specifically would carry out all work for me (recommended by the other s2000 chap). I can only say its great peace of mind and very well orchestrated. With the courtesy car free of charge for the day too.

I received a call at 0800 this morning from her, perky and nice as usual saying I spoke to my manager and we are happy to do the service for you for £400. Clearly this is a great price so I am booked in for service and will take the warranty while I am at it (requires a service at the time and does not require Honda history!)

All I can say is its been a pleasure and great service from Southampton service department, I believe the lady's name was Lucy but my memory of names is not great! I shall update once I have gone in. Really impressed and feel much better about it all with this forum of death and horror about anything and everything!

A real pleasure dealing with her and definitely a real credit to Hendy and Honda

Clearly we want to know:

2) did you nail it

I wanted warranty after all the horror stories and being a 46k car without knowing every previous mile, for 699 if and engine pops or gearbox its a bargain... I intend to keep her as a toy and get a commuter car at some point when I need it.

And to MB I will update once I go in to Honda, maybe try get a cheeky pic for you all haha, sounded attractive but as we all know..... that means nothing!

If she sounds hot on the phone, add a stone.

Fit on the phone, add 10 stone.

If I had £110 to put my mind at rest I'd be at rest without the warranty lol

Warranty is a big part of people buying new cars, I think its a good price and if something did happen id be well out of pocket in comparison. Worth every penny in my opinion.

My local honda dealership isn't to bad really, they did me a 150k service with a replacement gearbox and diff oil change , they did everything that was on the list that I gave them and they gave me a jazz for the time they had mine. All that for about £325 I think.
